7 Resolutions for an Organized New Year

We've just come through the sound and fury of the holidays - and our homes, nerves, and bank accounts reflect it.

Relax. It's a new year, and we can get things back under our control. The best part? They all build on one another.

These 7 tips are the place to start for a more organized new year.

4 Tips to Safely Machine Wash Sweaters

You can safely machine wash sweaters made of cashmere, acrylic, cotton or silk at home if you know the right washing and drying strategy to keep them soft, fluffy, and pill free.

Start by reading and following the clothing tags washing machine instructions, including water temperature and drying instructions.

These 4 laundry tips will help you get the best clean while machine washing sweaters.

January Home Checklist

Some home maintenance and housecleaning tasks only need to be done once or twice a year. The problem is that we forget to do them once or twice a year.

Or else, we tend to save it all for spring cleaning which makes spring cleaning such a daunting housecleaning chore that it doesn’t occur, either.

The best plan is to break annual and seasonal tasks down by month and create a housecleaning schedule.

Here's the preventative maintenance schedule for January.

Here's to a clean and organized 2015!
