How to Remove Adhesive from Cabinets

How to Remove Adhesive from Cabinets

Hi, I'm a young person without a lot of cleaning experience and am looking for a little advice.

There is a lot of exposed Industrial glue in my little flat around the bath and kitchen cabinets where someoneliberally glued these in place. Mold has now grown on it.

Scrubbing with mold cleaning products hasn't done anything. I know it's not standard practice to have so much glue exposed. How do I clean this up?

Thanks,
Kat

Removing Glue from a Tile Floor
by: Tara

Hi Kat,

To remove a large spot of adhesive on cabinetry, use a cloth soaked in lighter fluid, paint thinner or mineral spirits to soften the glue for removal. But don’t mix them together or use them with bare hands for your safety.

Lay the solvent-soaked cloth over the glue area and leave it on for 15 minutes. This will allow ample time for the liquid to work its softening magic on the adhesive.

Remove the cloth. Now, using either a single-sided razor blade or a double-sided blade with a holder covering one of the sides, tart scraping the glue off, always working away from you for maximum safety.

Good luck Kat – you can do it!

Tara
