How to get Soap residue stain out of fabric couch

Help please! My baby spit up his entire bottle on our couch. I read to blot dry with a paper towel, and then apply kitchen soap to the area (blot), and then water to help get rid of the soap.


The problem is, I now have a giant soap stain on the couch! It looks awful and I'm not sure what to do.

Any tips on how to spot treat it? In not sure I'll be able to get the material back on the cushion if I take it off. Thank you!!
