On the other hand, if you've been doing everything for your 13-year-old since she was born, you might want to start her with some of the simpler chores suitable for younger children.

Once a child reaches a certain skill or age level, they can generally do tasks appropriate for their age and those below it. This monthly house chores for kids schedule works best for me.

  • Clean the shower curtain
  • Disinfect the sink and drain
  • Sew on buttons and mend torn clothes.
